Although it is a few months into 2024, I am finally getting around to listing my favorite books from 2023. I was in a huge reading slump in the first half of the year. I got back into reading during the summer. With that said, I have noticed a trend, I hit reading slumps in the winter, during school - usually when seasonal depression would hit someone.
In the second half of 2023, I read 54 books (I think this is a personal best). Now, while I am writing this I am thinking, maybe I won't just do my favorite books? Maybe any new authors I have discovered that I love? Or even series?
SERIES:
The Don't Let Me Series by Kelsie Rae:
Don't Let Me Fall
Don't Let Me Go
Don't Let Me Break
Don't Let Me Down
This series is the series that pulled me out of my reading slump. I saw multiple videos about them on TikTok for months before I finally caved and bought the first book. After that I fell back into my reading frenzy.
Playing For Keeps Series by Becka Mack:
Consider Me
Play With Me
Unravel Me
Sweater Weather Series by a collective of authors:
Just Don't Fall by Emma St. Clair
The Fall Back Plan by Melanie Jacobson
Can't Help Falling by Courtney Walsh
I have not finished this series yet, there are seven books in total, but I highly recommend it.
BOOKS:
Tempt Our Fate by Kat Singleton
Rewrite Our Story by Kat Singleton
Brooklyn Cupid by Lexi Ray
Assistant To The Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer
Behind the Net by Stephanie Archer
AUTHORS:
Lucy Score
Kristen Granata
Becka Mack
Every time I finished a book I would note the common trope or genre it fell under. Here were a few of my favorite genres and tropes.
Romance
Sports Romance
Grumpy/Sunshine
Enemy to Lovers
Small-town Romance
Western Romance
and you can not forget, one of my favorite features in books, Dual POVs.
It was hard for me to compile this list. I loved every book I read in 2023, so picking out these few books was a struggle.
I really like the way you organized your list and included your favorite authors and genres. Which books have the dual POV (point of view I am guessing)?
